10 REASONS WHY YOU CAN’T BE GAY AND CHRISTIAN

Any homosexual offender, with true repentance and faith in Christ, can be forgiven and reconciled with God (read more here). Love, therefore, is the reason why I write this article. As for the “tone” of this article, my aim is to use a biblical one.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (1 Corinthians 6:11)

With the Supreme Court soon set to make a decision that might radically change the moral landscape of America forever, the issue of homosexuality is presently the front-burning issue in the minds of many Americans. Admittedly, the sinfulness of homosexuality is ultimately determined by the Bible. If moral standards are self-made, then one could go back and forth on this (or any other) ethical issue ad nauseam.  However, if our ultimate standard for morality is derived from the Bible (last I checked, we still swear-in our country’s leaders with a Bible), then the debate is rendered futile for God has spoken.

Sadly, however, instead of obeying the Bible, unbelievers will always do whatever their hearts crave. God’s Word is ancillary because they are ultimately wise in their own eyes. Believers, on the other hand, are compelled and obligated to adhere to God’s Word. Churches are now grappling with the issue as vocal supporters from the gay-friendly camp attempt to subjugate Christians to their ideals. Now, more than ever, Christians must not only stand firm in their stance that homosexuality is wrong, but they must also know why homosexuality is wrong.

As with any other sin, homosexuals are called to repent of their homosexuality and put their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Faith in Christ, repentance of homosexuality, and the stoppage of homosexual activity will ensure a former homosexual’s admittance into heaven (1 Cor 6:11). Hence, a person could be a “former homosexual,” but there’s no such thing as a “Christian homosexual.” Yes, a person could battle homosexual thoughts and desires (much like battling heterosexual, adulterous thoughts and desires), but a practicing homosexual will never enter into heaven (Eph 5:5-6). God’s Word ensures us of that.

10 REASONS WHY HOMOSEXUALITY IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH CHRISTIANITY:

1. AT ITS ROOT, THE PROBLEM IS ATHEISM. There’s no such thing as a “gay Christian” because according to the New Testament, homosexuality is the prime example of the blatant refusal to worship God through Jesus Christ. In fact, by the 30th verse of the first chapter of Romans, the apostle Paul declares that homosexuals are actually “haters of God” (Gk. θεοστυγεῖς).  One cannot be gay and Christian because according to Scripture, homosexuality is the end-result of hatred against God and the refusal to worship Him.  Or, to put it another way: homosexuality is merely symptomatic of the disease of idolatry. Death and AIDS are not the punishments for homosexuality. Rather, in Romans 1, God informs us that homosexuality is the punishment for atheism. At the heart of homosexuality is the stubborn refusal to worship God. Though all homosexuals intrinsically know that God exists (Rom 1:19) and that homosexuality warrants hell (Rom 1:32), they nonetheless refuse to seek after God and worship Him. As a result, God gives them over to be consumed with the dishonorable flames of homosexual passion. Now, don’t get me wrong: not all atheists become homosexuals. However, all homosexuals hate God (Rom 1:30) and have a worship disorder as their core issue:

Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen. For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error. (Romans 1:25-27)

2. IT COUNTERMANDS THE GOSPEL. Entire swaths of self-professing Christians are now claiming that one could simultaneously embrace the gospel and homosexual practice. Some teach that as long as one believes in the substitutionary atonement and resurrection of Jesus Christ, then an on-going homosexual lifestyle is a secondary issue that will not determine one’s eternal destiny. This is an incorrect teaching. Do not be deceived, human sexuality is very much a gospel issue that will determine heaven or hell:

• “…men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God” (1 Tim 1:10-11).

• In speaking about Corinthian “Christians” who were practicing sin while claiming to be saved and going to heaven, the apostle Paul instructs: “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Cor 6:9-10).

3. GOD VIEWS IT AS AN ABOMINATION. In God’s eyes, all sins are not equally detestable (John 19:11). Certain sins are weightier sins in the eyes of holy God. Sexual sins are worse than certain non-sexual sins (1 Cor 6:18). When it comes to homosexuality, God doesn’t just hate homosexuality—He abominates it.

• “If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death; their blood is upon them” (Lev 20:13).

• “Understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God” (1 Tim 1:9-11).

4. IT IS AN ERROR. We all know that “the parts” do not fit. Plain and simple. Until May 17, 1990, homosexuality was diagnosed as a mental disorder by the World Health Organization (WHO). Sadly, due to much political pressure, that is no longer the case. Yet, it does not change the fact that “the parts” still do not fit. Since there is a Creator, our body parts are to be used according to the Creator’s design. It’s no wonder then, that God calls homosexual activity an “error” (Rom 1:27). The word “error”—when used for homosexual activity—denotes the fact that there is a “correct” way to use one’s sexual organs. A five year-old that cannot quickly put together a two-piece (complementary) puzzle is rightly diagnosed as having an intellectual developmental delay. Amazingly, when it comes to homosexuality, some of America’s brightest intellectual minds are not able to see the act as an error! This inability truly demonstrates sin’s powerful ability to cloud human reasoning.

5. IT VIOLATES NATURAL LAW. Unless an object is used correctly and for its designed purpose, the desired result will not materialize (e.g., no matter how much I want a fully charged battery, unless I properly stick my cell phone charger into the car’s power outlet, my phone’s battery will not charge as intended by the manufacturer). God created and set in motion the laws of physics, chemistry, and biology. An end result of heterosexual sex is often the miraculous production of offspring. In God’s design, children produced through a monogamous, heterosexual marriage depict the perfect picture of the “one flesh” union that God intends for marriage (Matt 19:5). The child produced through heterosexual sex possesses exactly half his chromosomal DNA (twenty-three) material from his mother, and gains his other half (twenty-three) from his father. In the beautiful face of a child, you see that a man and a woman have indeed, become “one flesh.” The child is living proof of the couple’s union. On the other hand, since it violates God’s natural law, homosexual sex will never produce a child.

6. HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVITY DISHONORS ONE’S BODY. Over time, through continual commission of sin, the conscience becomes so seared that it no longer feels shame over morally corrupt acts. American public consciousness over the issue of homosexuality has been seared. Supermarkets now sell gay wedding cards without any sense of shame. Corporate America flaunts her support of homosexuals as if it was a badge of honor.

Yet, though the nation no longer feels shame over homosexuality, the Bible says that the homosexual offender rightfully ought to feel shame. Though the acts might feel pleasurable to the homosexual, homosexual activities dehumanize those who partake in them. It might have been consensual, but God calls it dishonorable and that it is the result of a debased mind:

• “Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves” (Rom 1:24).

• “And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done” (Rom 1:28).

Hence, those with debased minds ought not be allowed to adopt innocent, impressionable children. They should not be allowed to work with young school children. They should not be given civic leadership positions that govern laws concerning ethics and human flourishing (we all vividly remember what the lesbian mayor of Houston did with her powers last year). Nations that agree with God and criminalize “what ought not to be done” (Rom 1:28) are moving in the right direction. Nations that support and legitimize such behaviors are moving toward divine condemnation.

7. IT IS NEVER A PRIVATE ACT. Entire nations have been destroyed by God on account of this sin (Lev 18:24). My job, as a preacher, is to expose hidden works of iniquity and to call them for what they really are—sin (Eph 5:11). Any pastor or spiritual leader who refuses to call the homosexual to repentance gravely incurs God’s judgment upon himself:

If I say to the wicked, ‘You shall surely die,’ and you give him no warning, nor speak to warn the wicked from his wicked way, in order to save his life, that wicked person shall die for his iniquity, but his blood I will require at your hand. (Ezekiel 3:18)

Often times, the homosexual will say, “What I do in private ought to be my business! I’m not harming anyone.” Yet, a secret sin against God is a sin against us all (Joshua 7:25).

The viewing of pornography, for example, can be done in secret; but it unleashes great moral evil upon a society as the minds of men become literally enslaved to sex. Women are objectified and abused as visual props for the satisfaction of lust. Marriages are weakened, spouses become jaded, and children are endangered. Make no mistake, he who watches pornography in his bedroom does not magically become a pure-minded saint in the workplace. The dirty mind carries over. If the eye is evil, then the person’s entire outlook is evil (Titus 1:15). Simply because a sin was done in secret does not mitigate the fact that God’s wrath has been incurred. Furthermore, as his private sins continue to denigrate his soul, his interactions with the rest of society will likewise follow. After all, out of the abundance of his heart, his mouth will speak (Matt 15:18). Finally, with the legalization of gay marriage, gay adoption, and IVF technologies; homosexuality is now impacting us all. When Christian bakers are heavily fined for refusing to bake a wedding cake for a gay wedding, we can be sure that there are societal ramifications for this sin. Everything from public tax laws, to healthcare costs, to long-term living arrangements for minors are now being impacted by homosexuality.

8. IT GOES AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST. One of the more appalling acts of cowardice being committed by gay-supporting pastors in America is their claim that, “Jesus never spoke against homosexuality.” Yet, if Jesus is God in human flesh, then it is logical to believe that Jesus has God the Father’s view on the issue of homosexuality. After all, Jesus Himself stated, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). Additionally, with regard to His teachings, Jesus said, “I speak of what I have seen with my Father” (John 8:38). Therefore, in Matthew 19:4-5, when Jesus taught that marriage was only for one man with one woman, He was simply reiterating His Father’s Creation Ordinance for marriage. In giving the prohibition on divorce and remarriage in Matthew 19:9, Jesus was reinstating His Father’s ideal for marriage as law. “Sexual immorality” (Greek, porneia) in Matthew 19:9 was the one exception Jesus gave for divorce and remarriage. The term “porneia” means “illicit sexual intercourse” and covered everything from adultery, incest, homosexuality, and even bestiality (e.g., read Jude 7 to see the word being used to refer to the sin of homosexuality). Hence, if your husband was having sex with a dog, you could divorce him and rightfully remarry. Likewise, if he was having sex with another woman (or man), the spouse could rightfully divorce him and remarry. In such cases, the victim has the right to remarry. The offender must repent and remain celibate for the rest of his life. Needless to say, Jesus certainly did condemn homosexuality as sin, while simultaneously upholding marriage as being only between one man and one woman (Matt 19:4-5).

9. SODOM AND GOMORRAH. These two cities serve as eternal examples for how God feels about the sin of homosexuality (Jude 7). Yes, they didn’t take care of the poor; and yes, they were unconcerned about the needy (Ezekiel 16:49). But those weren’t the primary reasons for their destruction. Contrary to what liberal scholars try to say, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for the sin of homosexuality (you can read the entire account in Genesis 19).

Now, if after reading Genesis 19, you’re still thinking, “But what if the liberal scholars are right?” rest at ease. Here is the apostle Jude’s inspired account of why Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed:

“Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire” (Jude 7).

Hence, definitively forget the liberal scholars with their human analyses. A divinely-inspired New Testament writer has spoken. According to Jude, why was Sodom and Gomorrah destroyed? To serve as an example. An example of what? Of what happens to homosexuals. It’s right there in the New Testament text.

10. GOD HAS DECREED DEATH FOR THE PRACTICING HOMOSEXUAL AND FOR THOSE WHO APPROVE OF HOMOSEXUALITY. “Though they know God’s righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them” (Rom 1:32).

The text couldn’t be any clearer: both those who practice homosexuality, and those who approve of homosexuality are condemned. We can therefore; unequivocally say that homosexuality and Christianity are incompatible. You’re either for one or the other. You cannot be for both.

Please do not let anyone deceive you. If you’re gay, repent and turn to Christ in faith. God can wash you and forgive you through the blood of Christ. And if you’re not gay, then please speak out against homosexuality. Call homosexuals to repentance. Don’t stay silent and certainly, please don’t approve of the sin! Scripture plainly states that both the approver and the offender are demonstrating that they’re not truly saved. In other words, both are headed to hell.

Most of America presently favors homosexuality. Yet, the homosexuals of Sodom are presently undergoing a punishment of eternal fire (Jude 7). They serve as an example and through their judgment, God is mercifully warning you. As Jesus Himself once said, “No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish” (Luke 13:5).  Life is very, very short.  Please make the right choice.

    Hi. I have a question for Dr. Stephen Kim. Can you tell me, in a few sentences, why being a gay christian is ‘bad’. I am a gay christian so how does that make it impossible for a Christian to be gay.. If god made us all different than that would mean some of us are going to be homosexual. When I was younger I was told that God loves us all equally, so how is that so different for homosexuals.

    You’re right, many churches do not teach that remaining in a remarriage is sin. However, our church does. Gay marriage and remarriage are both sins against God that precludes one from heaven if they are not broken. Read this article:

    I have a tough question if you are a straight adult male and celibate practicing christian who tries to avoid all sin and therefore wont hurt or even strike another person and another male who is much bigger and stronger than you out of affection for you forces himself on you and molests/rapes you, have you committed a sin?

      If someone is affectionate towards another person, they do not force sex. Affection through sex is shown through love and taking care of the other person.
      You didn’t commit any sin at all.

    I agree. We are Christian brothers and sisters and can’t even discuss an extremely pressing issue without bashing one another and grouping our own opinions in with God’s word. At no point is homosexuality directly associated with atheism or given out as punishment for atheism. I believe every person reading this, who has any true knowledge of the word, can agree that homosexuality is a sin and is not condoned by God or any other scripture in the bible. However, “being gay” is a temptation like any other. No one chooses what temptation is thrown their way. It is by no means a choice to have homosexual desires. With that being said, it is a choice whether or not to act on them, and we are told that all temptation is common to man and that we will not have to take on more than we can bare. I have personally battled against homosexuality my entire life. I have been rejected, ridiculed, humiliated, and taught to believe that there was something wrong with me as a person and that’s why I was this way. God does not curse people with homosexuality. It is a hard thing to deal with, but it must be dealt with to have a relationship with God. You will not scare a homosexual couple into repentance. If anything the blatant hatred expressed in this article would simply force them further into the choices they have made. Jesus taught in and was the embodiment of love. I do not agree with or condone homosexuality for a minute, but this is a group of hurting people. Human beings with a heart, a soul, and spirit that deal with a real temptation that’s not just attached to lust but to real human emotions and feelings. If half the people on this site had actually taken the time to speak to someone dealing with this rather than bashing their lifestyle from a distance then they would know what I’m saying to be true. They absolutely need to hear the truth of God’s word and if we care about their souls then we will tell them the truth but not from the standpoint of anger. Jesus is the only answer to overcome. Read, pray, and ask God for discernment. I love you all and am not interested in debating with anyone.

    So, OUR works get us into heaven now? The Bible is very specific, the only way to the Father is through Jesus Christ. Accepting Christ = Salvation, my friend. Be careful, you’re teaching improper Scripture brother. Sin = death. All is equal. By the direction of your post one is to believe that you cannot sin and still go to heaven. An alcoholic cannot be saved, based on your teaching. Thank God He already left us with His teaching in the Word.

    Anonymous, you hit the nail on the head and thank you for your words. There are so many men and women who are attracted to the same sex BUT they do not act on it because they do not want to sin by having homosexual intercourse. There are many single men and single women who are attracted to the opposite sex but they do not want to sin by having sexual intercourse (fornication). A homosexual who has received truly Jesus Christ as Saviour has an earthly body that is called the temple of God and he or she refuses to have sexual encounters and the same for a heterosexual who has received Christ, they won’t have sexual encounters, either. So for the homosexual or heterosexual who says the Spirit of Christ is living in them and if they have no conviction about having sexual intercourse, they really do not have the Living Christ within them to guide them. Period. This is where the confusion starts. It does not glorify God to say, I have come out and I want the world to know that I am now having sexual intercourse as a homosexual or single person and “God approves”. What if I said, I was a closet alcoholic and now I am coming out and will be getting drunk and I want to share this new found freedom with the world and God has given me His Stamp of Approval. Sorry, it does not work that way in the KINGDOM OF GOD. It works that way in the Spirit of the World and the world will applaud it. But the Kingdom of God works an entirely different way.     I am gay and I never hated god or did anything wrong. I discovered my sexuality when I was 15, and never did anything wrong before that. Why would I be “Punished by god because I don’t worship him”. I go to church every sunday and learn christian education at school, even when I was small my parents went there too, and I liked praying. The only sin is having homosexual intercourse and being attracted to the same sex isn’t some punishment. People, go ask your priest and stop reading nonsense on the internet. In fact, the church tries to help you because when people know you’re gay, that’s all they see in you anymore. They just think of you as “This gay guy”. The church tries to create peace and tries to help you in every way possible. But then there is no way to change sexuality, so consider this as a challenge to yourself. If you are really a christian you will not engage in any homosexual acts, and you will not sin. Remember you can always go ask for forgiveness in your church.

Because I would die for him there is no way i could ever hate him! Im so confused right now! I feel like a traitor. I dont do anything with girls or say its right but i still lust please explain what to do!

    Homosexual sex is not love. I have seen men in the hospital who were on the receiving end whose backsides were destroyed and they were in terrible pain and many needed surgery. Inflicting pain on another person is not the love of God. It is a form of hate.

Get some peace. Homosexuals do not deserve to die. They deserve to live! They deserve a wonderful life without bondage and sex addiction and pain. Jesus Christ loves homosexuals as much as anyone else in the world. Jesus Christ is not about the word Christianity which is really a messed up word. He is about saving a soul, saving a life, and rescuing men and women who are in bondage. He delivered me from alcoholism. I never said to my family and to the world, I am coming out from closet alcoholism and now I can drink lots of alcohol every day. I never said God created me an alcoholic. I never said I was born that way. I had no excuses. Instead, He set me free from it one day. I never had to go to 12 step. He can do the same for anyone who is in bondage to anything.

    Something Iv’e been wondering for a long time is if you willingly sin and have no intention to stop (in my case acting on lust in a manner that only requires myself, cussing, and being entertained by fictional violence, the last of which I’m not exactly sure if it’s sin or not), does that mean you actually aren’t a christian even if you believe Jesus is the messiah? Iv’e never been entirely sure if you have to simply believe in Jesus, or that and consistently try to stop every sin you do. I’m sure every person, christian or not, willingly sins a lot by doing something, because the willingness to do so is exactly why we sin to begin with. How does one reconcile John 3:16 with 1 Corinthians 6:9-11? I know believing in Jesus doesn’t excuse sin, but if he came to die for us knowing that we can’t meet his standards for works precisely because we’ve sinned and sends us to hell anyway because we were less willing to stop some of them, then what was the point of his sacrifice? Is it that we need works as well as faith to be saved from the second death, since faith without works is dead, or simply that only faith can make any works we do worth something?

      It is by the power of God that the Lord can help you to overcome evil sexual desires. It does take time and the Lord can deliver you. I have had recently in the last few year my personal downfall but now have overcome and experience liberty and freedom as the Word of God and the Power of God has given me more acceptance of myself and confidence with peace and security by walking in faith in His purity.

    I’m not gay. I don’t like watching gays. That said, the author of this article is a bigot who needs to be killed publicly for all to see because that is the most Christian thing to do. That was his last act.         No, I didn’t forget anything. Righteousness without salvation may have temporal benefits but will not “earn” salvation. Good works are the fruit of obeying the gospel and continuing in faith, not a way of earning salvation as if it was pay.
        Knowing how to be saved is not being saved. The gospel must be obeyed. Many unbelievers know the Bible very well. It contains the knowledge of how to obtain salvation. But until they act on that knowledge, they do not enter the kingdom of God. Some even believe the gospel but are unwilling to abandon their entertainments, ambitions and vices and come and follow Christ. Not as a curious spectator, but as an obedient disciple.

            • Repenting of one’s sins
            • Confessing Christ before men (human beings)

            Then, one must persevere in the faith. That is, not turn one’s back on Christ.

            Repentance is being truly sorry for one’s sins. Not just at being caught, but for offending God.
            King David said, “I have sinned against the LORD.” Of course he sinned against Uriah, against Bathsheba, against the men he had do his dirty work, against his royal household, who knew of his sin, and against Israel. Yet he recognized that his sin (like all sin) was first and foremost against God.

Lumping a vast number of people together without recognising their individuality is not love. Love is shown in actions, it can’t be declared at the start and then not put into practice. If the reason for the article was love, shouldn’t this be clear throughout the article?
    Love is kind, and this is not. This is not even biblically sound, as there is so much more context to the passages than you’re willing to admit.

      That is not love. It is HATE. Hate by indifference. Just as failing to warn the boaters of their approach to the cascade is indifference to the degree of hate.

    What people don’t seem to be realising is that homosexuality and sexual preference has been something which people have been through since before the ten commandments were even given to you. It is only because of hatred and discrimination such as that from the bible that people have felt ashamed and kept their true feelings a secret. And if that is what God is about I would never be a part of something like that. If God cares for us then why can we simply not be respectful of one another’s wants. Especially in this society when acceptance is in such abundance. For people to fight against something that isn’t the fault of those you seem to be condemning seems ludicrous as the whole point of being apart of something like a religious group is to have a sense of community where you can be seen in the eyes of the lord as your own person and for him to love and guide you in your life. Not for him or any of his followers to display vile and unnecessary hatred when they are not hurting anyone by wanting to be who they were born to be. Their souls are much purer than yours because they are not the ones calling others disgusting and unnatural. I came to this site looking for some guidance for my own beliefs and all I found was pure distaste. Especially since some Christians do believe that it is okay. I don’t mean to say you aren’t entitled to an opinion as we all have a right to our own minds. I am simply stating that you are starting a fight that isn’t necessary and that if you are to make a point you do it in a compassionate and more logical way, not inserting your own feelings and attempting to force them on others.

      We share what God says about all sorts of behavior which are sinful, because we love other people. And Christians are commanded to judge each other’s actions, just not hypocritically. So, what I try to do is just tell the truth in love.
      So, choosing to serve hospitalized homosexuals was my way of showing Christ’s love, along with sharing Christ. We simply share that God’s view of homosexuality, or any other sexual expression outside of natural marriage is a sin, which results in human suffering and sorrow. Also, that God loves everyone, and wants them saved.
      In my church, we have all sorts of people who have repented of sin, and placed their faith in Christ. All are loved equally. All visitors are welcomed.
      However, if a person claims to be saved, and wants to be a member, certain Biblical standards must be kept. Thus, we’d have to warn an adulterer, and practice church discipline if he or she didn’t repent. My point is that the standards and love ( Biblical ) are the same for all ( God’s standards. ). We’re commanded to live holy lives; thus we sacrifice any sinful desires we have ( don’t practice them. ). For example, as a single Christian, I practice celibacy.
      Also, we’re compelled to warn the secular culture that it is on a spiritually dangerous path. ( Romans 1:24-30.). The results of the ” sexual revolution ” have been disastrous. Since marriage is a common good, and the basic building block of society, it matters. We warn because it is a grievous sin, and also because of the human suffering that will occur secondary to it.
      I’m a Biblical counselor, and have counseled these folks; there is nothing ” gay ” about them. Most of them are secretly miserable. The children they adopt are also very unhappy and confused. An objective look at the research confirms that their reports are general. For example, the suicide rate of homosexuals is 20 times the population norm.
      So, we offer hope in Christ by witnessing to His offer of forgiveness of sin, for all types of sinners. We offer a community of spiritual family love, discipleship, and worship. When Christ saves you He radically changes you. And in sanctification we’re made more and more like Him.
      The Bible makes it clear when you get saved, you” love and obey Christ; ” which is obeying the Book God inspired. So, I’m not sure why anyone would think sharing the above was a bad thing.

But that still does not make it “ok” in God’s eyes, because we all are born with sin as a descendant from Adam, even without us choosing it. Homosexuality may well be a sin they are born with and have no choice in, but what they can choose is to repent, i.e. not engage in homosexual acts, in the same way us heterosexuals are born attracted to the opposite gender, and we often have sinful, lustful eyes/desires, and that is not our choice, it’s something we’re “born with.” And again, the reaction is the same: we are called to repent and not indulge that.

          You are also right in that they (and no one) should be shunned from the church, but that also doesn’t mean the church accepts everyone doing anything they want. The church should accept all sinners, hetero or homo, and church-goers ought to be seeking repentance, for the purpose of the church is to make disciples of Christ. I agree, they deserve the same acceptance as anyone else, but that does not mean we accept their sin. Just as if we as heterosexuals may have lusts for the opposite sex, and what if we never repented and just wanted to live a promiscuous life–the church is called to accept us as a person, yes, but that does not mean they are to accept our promiscuity, and in fact they should be actively working with us to help us repent.

          Whether or not it affects us or not is open to debate (see proximal vs. distal causes/effects). But in the end that does not really matter, because we are to grow in Christlikeness–that is what our Christian faith is, to follow Him. If we are indulging our sin, no matter what it is, that hinders us.

            Christianity is a story, taken from the Egyptian figure, Horous – who was the son of God. Horous, who was the human symbol that represented the solar system and the zodiac (the 12 signs). When Horous was called the son of God, it represented the SUN of God, where it hid away at night, and came back in the morning. The same goes for different seasons, where we have more sunlight in the spring and summer months than autumn and winter. This was a way for the Egyptians to worship what was happening in the sky.

            When Judaism came into fruition, they adopted the idea of the son of God, by creating Jesus. There is no firm evidence that Jesus was a fictional character, just as there is no evidence that he was a real person.

            My point is, that your biased, unjustified, ignorant, rude, and down right obsolete opinions – in which you seem to have no space for reasoning or will listen to any other comments (comments that don’t shun people based on their sexual orientation by the way) is ridiculous when the bible is a story. I am a Christian heterosexual woman, living my life in pure faith of the Lord, but it is just a story. Anyone who uses religion as a means of hate is a clear indication of how well the ‘man’ is doing at lying to you.

            I’m sorry if my post makes you angry or you question my belief, but I am not shrouded by the unrealistic view that Christianity is the only belief.

          If a church tolerates open wickedness and corruption among the members/attendees, (the leaders/teachers of) that church HATE(s) both the sinners AND the rest of the church by allowing them to continue to be exposed to the disease of sin.

          WE do not condemn. We direct the sinner’s attention to GOD’s condemnation and warn the sinner of the wrath to come. We also inform the sinner of how God has provided for their redemption.
          Paul wrote that Christians are to judge one another. We are not to judge the infidels, for they stand condemned by God already.
          If you claim to be a Christian, be ready to have your conduct scrutinized and any error pointed out so that you have the opportunity to repent, which means being sorry enough to correct your behavior.

              It appears from studying everything the Bible teaches on the subject of eternal existence in torment that it is the case.
              Personally I am not interested in finding out for myself and have taken steps to avoid the possibility.
              I would not be disappointed to find out that everyone ends up in heaven (universalism) or on a perfected “Garden of Eden” earth; that the only ones who end up in hell are the devil and his demons. Why, if they were reformed so that they’d behave righteously, I’d vote to let them in, too.
              Unfortunately, it appears to me that this will not be the case. The Lord didn’t consult me when He was setting things up.

    Charlotte, I reply to you not to judge or argue with you but to inform & have you to ponder. As a professing Christian what do you interpret it to mean and by whose standards? Also, how much of the Holy Bible have you read, truly mediated upon, studied, and prayed about? Also, is it The Lord God you seek to honor, obey, and proclaim or man’s will? Know for sure who you really serve. Remember satan relentlessly looks to destroy everything about God, Jesus is the prime example. Confusion among the saints is growing and we know “God is not the author of confusion”. So, workout your faith. Learn for yourself what God says and stand for God all the way thru Christ Jesus or be apart of Romans 1. I hope this helps. Peace 🙂

I am a Christian and have faith in what I believe, which you should not comment on, as I do not comment on your extreme criticisms on same sex relationships. You must, deep down, appreciate that this is not a view that can be continued on, because they are not harming, nor have an intention in harming the church. They are people, like us. Not any more, not any less. The sanctity of the church is more, in my eyes, something of strength when the acceptance of all people is worldwide.

Your first two sentences are definitely addressed in God’s word, the Holy Bible. You say that you’re “a Christian and have faith in what you believe”, what is it that you believe, and from where do you get your source or how is God glorified in it? Don’t get me wrong or become upset, for I’m not asking to judge you. Commenting on your faith was not my intent or desire. My words to you, others, and even myself are what we have to face daily: Matthew 6:24; Joshua 24:15a; Matt 22: 37; I Peter 5: 8; … “..extreme criticisms on same sex relationships” is an opinion that you hold to and that is your chose. Know that Criticism, no way! Pointing people to what God has said in His Word, knowing the consequences, and repenting or avoiding is the motive. Hating the Sin and Loving the Sinner, as Christ demonstrated & commanded, definitely. “…because they are not harming, nor have an intention in harming the church. They are people, like us.” this is now the same point being used by those engaged in or accepting child molestation & pornography, bestiality, incest, polygamy, and more who also scream consensual, love, no harm, don’t judge, happiness, God loves us. Who draws the line in all of this? These acts are currently being contested in court for some of the same rights given to homosexuals. Research it. It’ll blow you away. So, who draws the line? How is God glorified in all of this? Do we force God to conform to our ways & understanding? Do we worship creation more than the creator? Rom 1: 25, Ephe 6: 12; Rom 1…. We accept People but not sinful acts, such is the enormous point of our Sinless Savior Christ Jesus, Salvation, The Holy Bible, The Holy Spirit, Heaven…and the spiritual battle that is constantly being waged on us Ephe 6: 10-20.     I will try and keep this as unbiased and calm as possible, because this has really made me question whether Christianity is a religion I can be proud to be a part of. I am a heterosexual Christian woman. I cannot believe the ignorance in this post, and supporting replies. We are in a time where Christianity forgives child abusers, murders and rapists, where criminals and low life’s can merely seek redemption for their crimes, but a homosexual person is shunned in the eyes of the religion because of who they fall in love with? Can I just ask, when did you chose to be heterosexual? At what point in your life did that decision become a milestone that you took the path of ‘righteousness’ to please the Lord. There is more than one religion, and more than one belief, but Christianity proves time and time again to be the most obsolete preaching from a book that makes no realistic sense, that doesn’t one squandered homosexuality – it doesn’t mention it, and therefore is the way you’ve CHOSEN to interpret it. My faith lies with Christianity because that’s where I find my strength and forgiveness but it saddens and disappoints me that there are still these bigotry views.

    I hope God can forgive you for not accepting everyone. Love is love, and love shall always win.

      1) We are all called to repent, (godly sorrow, changed direction), of (all) sin, Christ’s message was “repent or perish”2) (Luke 13:3,4)
      2) Don’t confuse “Love”. His love is that He saves us from the fires of Hell by his loving, sacrificial death on the cross. Rom 5:8-9 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.”
      3) God is love but He also Judge; His wrath is kindled and it is coming,

      Addressing the definition of ” love; ” we define it as agape ( Corinthians 1:13.) which is a self-sacrificial love that honors others before self. There is also ( platonic ) friendship. Finally, the romantic love that’ develops after natural marriage.
      Any sexual experiences outside of natural marriage, including homosexuality, are fueled by lust, an indulgence of fleshly desires. This is an error make, confusing lust with love.

      Upon repentance. Such some of you WERE.
      The church is not a civil government with the power to punish. The severest discipline the church can impose is disfellowship/ excommunication/shunning.
      If the sin is public and brings shame on the church, public confession and declaration of repentance is called for.
      As far as sins committed against individuals, those persons are the ones to grant forgiveness.

    Thanks for this biblical post. I have a question about #5. Can this point be taken to mean that contraception is not allowable for a Christian (married, of course) couple? I can imagine that if this point were brought up against homosexuality, it can easily be said of the Christian that uses contraception. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks, and keep the faith, for persecution and suffering is all but guaranteed and helps us grow in Christlikeness, so rejoice!

      Gordon, “Do all things to the glory of God”. Why go to man’s offer on birth control when God has a natural system set in place (The ovation & menstruation cycle). Also, what does contraception look to do and is it to bring glory to God or please man? Remember God said in His Word to be fruitful and multiply, and that He would supply all your needs? But man says the pill, abortion, and trust yourself & government for everything. Look how that’s turning out. In no way is homosexuality (Can never reproduce) parallel to contraception (Works to stop reproduction). Wisdom comes from God, so, earnestly search scripture and ask God to guide you on this. Satan is having a field day with people. Romans 1 is so profound in America. Anyway, I know Ephesians 6: 12. All who have posted their reply to you with such self knowledge & understanding, not God’s, and hate, not love, have added their name to a prayer list at least. So, keep doing what you’re doing because of Christ. Stand firm, encouraged, focused, and sharing His truths always. Again, Thank You So Very Much for your post. If you want to be an American, a legal transaction has to occur whereby you can be declared a citizen of America.

    Being a Christian is not about what you do, it’s WHO you are. I don’t want to waste time explaining this but I pray the Holy Spirit will give you understanding (if you ask Him). You can be tagged “christian”, go to church, say christian words, do what we do and not be a Christian. The foundation of the Christian faith is the Bible. If you don’t believe what the Bible says, how can you claim to be a Christian? You’re simply playing church.

    This is the what the Bible says about homosexualism, lesbianism, gay, etc.

    Romans 1:26-28 (KJV)

    “For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient.” (King James Version)

    Read it up in other versions of the Bible for better understanding.

      Just today I heard on the radio of a “Christian” pastor [see Jeremiah 23:1, 2; Ezekiel 34:2-10] in Kennesaw, Georgia convicted of molesting two girls in the church he founded. So, according to the principles promoted by scoffers, no Christian can speak out against child-molesting. Perhaps if the Democrats are successful in legalizing child-molesting it will be dangerous to speak out against such wickedness.
      Just because not every Democrat, every Liberal, every Progressive, even every homosexual, favors such evil does not mean that the movers and shakers of Progressivism are not pushing toward legalization of every sort of perversion and corruption.

You are tarnishing the name of Christians who are trying to promote the love of Christ; when one “Christian” man puts his beliefs out as the truth that essentially attacks a group, it makes the world see the entire religion in a bad light. I see that you base your “facts” on Bible verses, which I would normally be grateful, but since you completely take these verses out of context…
    1. Sexual orientation has nothing to do with a person’s religion. There, in fact, are many homosexuals who live as true Believers. On the other hand, there are many heterosexuals who do not. Not only that, the Bible verses you write make no contribution to what you are actually saying. Romans 1:18-19 says “The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.” There is NO mention of homosexuality in that verse. Romans 1:30 says “slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful; they invent was of doing evil; they disobey their parents.” Again, there is no mention of homosexuality. I’m not saying that God doesn’t see homosexuality as a sin (as that actually is quoted in the Bible), but everyone sins and you are singling out one group of people for no intelligent reason.
    2. In your number two, you quote 1 Timothy 1:10-11 and 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, however, you take each of these completely out of context and fail to deliver the full meaning of these passages. In that particular part of 1 Timothy 1, Paul is warning Timothy against false teachers; it includes verses 3 through 11, saying “As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain men not to teach false doctrines any longer nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God’s work – which is by faith. The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Some have wandered away from these and turned to meaningless talk. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm. We know that the law is good if one uses it properly. We also know that law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious; for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, for ADULTERERS AND PERVERTS, for slave traders and liars and perjurers – and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine that conforms to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.” Are you meaning to say that homosexuals are the only type of sinners (not that they are mentioned in particular in this verse) that God, the all-powerful, all-merciful God, doesn’t forgive? That seems like false teachings to me. As for 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, I noticed that you failed to mention the very next verse (1 Corinthians 6:11) that states “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. How can you, a pastor, say that homosexuals can’t be Christians? Do you have the same power of forgiveness and judgement as Our Lord Jesus Christ?
    3. I do not disagree that God sees homosexuality as a sin. He decrees that even hate is a form of murder. However, I do not agree with your statement that all sins are not equally detestable. The verse you give is not applicable to this situation. John 19:11 (“Jesus answered, ‘You would have no power over me if it were no given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin.’”) is invalid because Jesus is saying that those who handed me over to Pilate are “guilty of a greater sin” than He, but Jesus had no sin, so any amount of sin would be greater than Jesus’. Here are some more Bible verses that would be more truthful: James 2:10-11; Matthew 7:1-5; Romans 3:23; Romans 3:10. Just to name a few.
    4. I don’t even know how I would reply to this one.
    5. This doesn’t have anything to do with homosexuals being Christian. You are simply on a rampaging tirade against homosexuals.
    6. Your persisting anti-homosexual beliefs are clouding your argument in this case.
    7. I can’t believe that you think it is your business to “expose works of iniquity and to call them for what they really are.” You are playing God, Mister Kim.
    8. Though Christ may have taught against homosexuality, He also spoke about condemning our brothers. Matthew 7:1-5
    9. In Jude 7, it clearly says Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed because they indulged in “sexual immorality,” which could mean adultery, man and wife cheating on each other, sex before marriage, etc. It is not singularly homosexual, yet here you are on a crusade against them in particular. Based off of this verse and your beliefs, no one who has sexually sinned can possibly be a Christian.
    10. Again, Romans 1:32 is not just about homosexuals. The verses preceding 32 list people who “should” be condemned. Romans 1:29-31 are as followed: “They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents. They are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless.” So, if you are saying that a person can’t be gay and Christian, based on these verses, you are saying that no one can be truly Christian, not even you.

      2. Leviticus 18:22: “‘Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable.” NIV
      3. Leviticus 20:13: “‘If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.” NIV
      4. Deuteronomy 23:17: ” There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.”
      5. Judges 19:22: “Now as they were making their hearts merry, behold, the men of the city, certain sons of Belial, beset the house round about, and beat at the door, and spake to the master of the house, the old man, saying, Bring forth the man that came into thine house, that we may know him.”
      6. 1 Kings 14:24: “And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.”
      7. 1 Kings 15:12: “And he took away the sodomites out of the land, and removed all the idols that his fathers had made.”
      8. 1 Kings 22:46: “And the remnant of the sodomites, which remained in the days of his father Asa, he took out of the land.”

      The sin that handing Jesus over to Pilate was greater than was Pilate’s sin in failing to acquit and release Jesus. Not any sin of Jesus.
      Pilate was an ignorant Roman pagan. The ones who handed Jesus over to Pilate were intimately familiar with the Bible (“Old Testament”) prophecies of Him. It was their deliberate blindness that enabled the Pharisees, Sadducees and the lawyers to persecute Jesus without conscience.

      The distinction, Lily, in verse as ” such were some of you, ” is that, once saved in Christ we have a ” new heart, ” and the indwelling Holy Spirit of Christ. We’re saved; sanctified; forgiven; and radically changed. So, these sins were in the past, not a present or future practice. Christ commands us to give up the practice of any sexual sins. If we love Him, we do. So, these are behaviors, in the past. To practice sexual sin would dishonor our Lord.

        Just because the Lord doesn’t change doesn’t mean that our understanding of him can’t. Or do you think that you know everything there is to know about him? That you have nothing more to learn? Because the Christian views on many things have changed over the years, including the world being flat, and slavery, all justified through the Bible.

      Both European and American cities are becoming open “Corinths” and “Sodoms.”
      Oh, “won’t happen here,” you say? hoping to inspire complacency. And why not?       Very good article. So many churches are ignoring what the Bible says to make a compromise with the culture of today’s world.       First of all, government only recognizes marriage ( and civil laws can be in error. ). So, God defined marriage as between one man and one woman. Christ ( God the Son, ) affirmed the institution of marriage as it was defined.
      Marriage is a common good, and the basic building block of society. So, by being in error the government will be harming: society as a whole; and encouraging/ approving of the sin of homosexuality.
      Natural marriage is a symbol of Christ and the church.
      Exclusive to natural marriage is ability to have natural children.
      As Christians, we are commanded to evangelize, and warn about the dreadful consequences of such grevious sins as these. Speaking the truth in love is not popular, but is necessary. Some head the warnings, repent; and accept Christ as Lord Savior.
      We’re also commanded to warn those who call themselves” Christians, ” but practice sins which indicate contrary evidence of this.

The world has already rejected the truth of God’s Word and is doing it more and more every day. Most if not many are vain in their reasonings, and darkened is their unintelligent hearts. They are alleging themselves to be wise, but they are made stupid. So God turned them over, in the lusts of their hearts, to the uncleanness of dishonoring their bodies among themselves, those who alter the truth of God into a lie.       My denomination ( Southern Baptist ) has taken a Biblical stance on the LBGTQ ( etc. ) issue. We evangelize and have ministries for those who are saved and retain some same sex ( or opposite ) sex attraction. Some lose the unnatural desires when they are saved. Recently, we had to practice church discipline with a pastor ( re: “homosexual marriage. ” ). He was given the Biblical three opportunities, but refused to repent. Thus, he was disfellowshipped. Also, we’ve stopped any adoptions to the ” married homosexuals. “.
      It’s puzzling that homosexuals ( etc. ) seem so much more hardened in their sin (now, ) say than 25 years ago. I can remember a couple of homosexuals around that time who were very convicted of their sin, heard my witness, and I believe were saved. Now, I’ve witnessed to some, and keep hearing them insist they are gay ” Christians. “. They also claim that true Christians (Biblical, ) fear and hate them. That is quite untrue. Why would we bother to witness and share Christ if we hated or feared them?
      Where on earth did the false ideas that true believers in Christ fear or hate the LBGTQ folks? Also, why are they so hardened to repenting from that sin?

        I am what you would call a repented “gay” man, and although God has brought me peace through Revelation of His truth, it has never created attraction towards women. I never chose to be attracted to men and be completely void of attraction to women, but I focus now on God’s redemption. Homosexuality createdin me a dependency on God, and I am thankful for that… You have to understand that gays grow up hating themselves long before the rest of the world does. It’s a hard thing to deal with. You will never understand this if you do not deal with homosexuality. It’s an awful thing.           My heart felt heavy for you, and I’ve begun to intercede for you. I too suffered that horrible affliction, and I grew up in the church and was saved at an early age. One of the best books out there to help you understand how this developed (long before you understood the birds and bees) is “Desires in Conflict” by Joe Dallas, and also “You Don’t Have to be Gay”, by Andy Kaminski. The church has truly failed I believe, but oh Lord how we need to reach out and help now. Prophesy is unfolding before our eyes, and so seldom mentioned from the pulpit.
          Anyhow my brother, hold on to your faith – God will NEVER let you down, even if you slip and fall. After several years of celibacy, I no longer stuggle much with desires for men, and have actually felt normal attractions to women. Whether or not that is in God’s devine plan for my life or not, homosexual lifestyle is VERY dark and depraved, and getting worse. Although I wasnt’ overly active, it always made me feel empty, and dirty. Sure a bit of pleasure for the moment, but NO WAY will God accept two of the same sex, even claiming to be Christian into His kingdom. If you can practice that lifestyle, and not have any guilt… You’d better beg God for His forgiveness, fast and pray – because there is a point He will sear your conscious and give you over… Oh God… I could never imagine how horrible.
          I do alot of praying for folks I know in that lifestyle, it breaks my heart, but they know not to try to convince me to change my mind. Been there, and God delivered. The answer is Jesus, I’m convinced no psychiatrist can help, though solid Christian counceling certainly can, and an accountability group. God is faithful, and wishes no one to parish.
          So I agree, it’s hurtful, and a very hard thing to get free from, but I’ll be praying for you. Keep the faith man, God cannot fail, and He’ll pull you all the way to safety…

              Being gay is not a choice. Therefore, asking gay people to be celibant forces them to act against human nature. You may then say that homosexuality is against nature, even though gay relationships are evident in nature as well.

    Yes, Pastor Stephen is correct about homosexuality being removed from the DSM due to political pressure. It wasn’t done due to scientific evidence or advancement. So, the psychiatric community doesn’t consider it a brain disease or organic. Yet, this group claims that people are born this way (again, 3.4% of Americans consider themselves LGBT). So, if they are born this way, then it’s a birth defect or an aberration. But, if they claim that they’re not born this way, then it’s a lifestyle, a choice. LGBTQI bases its existence through their feelings. For example, since I am attracted to the same gender, I must follow that desire. Feelings are not your compass in life.

    Unless people see their sin and have a need to be forgiven, they’re never see the beauty and love of Christ. Oh, He is so precious.

      I am going to look past that distasteful last sentence in your response and I will attempt to address your objections because I care about your soul. Your stance on this issue is demonstrative of your salvation so listen carefully:

      1. Go back and read reason #9 in my article. I was fully aware of Ezekiel 16:49 and virtually quoted it verbatim in my article (I even went back to my article and listed the verse for you). My statement does not contradict Ezekiel 16:49. Yes, they were callous toward the poor, but Jude 7 informs us that the primary reason for Sodom’s destruction was their homosexuality (their going after “unnatural desire”/”strange flesh”). Like any wicked society, I am sure Sodom and Gomorrah committed a multitude of sins. Yet, they were primarily destroyed for their homosexuality. In fact, Jude 7 explicitly informs us that God punished them (and is punishing them) for their homosexuality so that their judgment could serve as an example and warning for all of us: “Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire, serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire” (Jude 7).

      2. You mentioned Ezekiel 16:49, but you failed to mention the very next verse. Yes, they were arrogant and neglected the poor in verse 49, but according to Ezekiel 16:50, God destroys them for their homosexual abomination: “They were haughty and did an abomination before me. So I removed them, when I saw it” (Ezekiel 16:50). Read the text carefully: “I removed them when I saw it (referring to the homosexual abomination).”

      3. Sodom was not destroyed because they wanted to rape the visiting angels. Sodom’s wickedness pre-existed the angelic visit. God knew about their wickedness and intended on destroying them even prior to the angels’ visitation. In fact, the angels were sent there by God simply to verify Sodom’s wickedness first-hand:
      And the LORD said, “The outcry of Sodom and Gomorrah is indeed great, and their sin is exceedingly grave. “I will go down now, and see if they have done entirely according to its outcry, which has come to Me; and if not, I will know.” (Gen 18:20-21)

      4. Reason #9 is strong, valid, and should be sufficient (the apostle Jude (in Jude 7) informs us that Sodom’s destruction should deter us from homosexuality); but there are also 9 other solid reasons for you to oppose homosexuality. The bottom line is, God views homosexuality as a sin that is “exceedingly grave” (Gen 18:20). The proper recourse is repentance, stoppage of the sin (or the support of it), and genuine faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Grace is given to all who repent. One cannot be gay and Christian.

      • Why must you preach hate and conformity? The Bible is written by the hand of man, it is man’s own infinitely biased and personally interpreted work. The Lord preaches love and empathy, understanding and compassion, tolerance and togetherness.
        You make him sad with your hateful cut and dry opinions and interpretations. Extremists from all walks choose this path, all proving only that religion is a dangerous venture into irresponsible and unjustified dehumanisation of those who disgust (and have disgusted throughout the ages) in their beautiful difference.         • It is my belief that God influenced Lot to do this so that there would be no question about the “sexual orientation” of the attackers. It’s a little hard for modern day homosexuals to say these men were anything but homosexual when they turned down two young virgin girls because they’d rather rape two strange men. God knew those homosexuals would not take Lots daughters and I believe Lot did as well. This is the innate wisdom contained within the Bible.       Personally I am not interested in finding out for myself and have taken steps to avoid the possibility.
      I would not be disappointed to find out that everyone ends up in heaven (universalism) or on a perfected “Garden of Eden” earth; that the only ones who end up in hell are the devil and his demons. Why, if they were reformed so that they’d behave righteously, I’d vote to let them in, too.
      Unfortunately, it appears to me that this will not be the case. The Lord didn’t consult me when He was setting things up.

If the rocks cry out let them cry out in praise to God, as indicated by the scripture, not contempt of another. Let all men know this: America is not like Israel. We are not a “Christian” nation and God has no covenant except with his Church. We are not guaranteed anything in this life, but that which is clearly stated under the new covenant… in the world we will have tribulation and we are quickened by Him who has overcome the world. But we are also promised the fruit of the Spirit, if indeed we fellowship with that Spirit. We are not guaranteed safe communities, religious freedom, or environments free from the evidence, distraction, and influence of sin. Such false expectations divide us from those we interpret as sinners, and foster contempt for them as we perceive them as the cause of our “problems”, depriving us of some anticipated earthly sanctuary or utopia. We are so concerned with saving the sinking ship called the USA, that we throw the lost overboard.
